HEIRS TO STEAM
There is a funny story— I cannot remember when I first heard it— where an old man laments to his grown children that things aren’t what they used to be. He goes on to say how much he misses the good old days of his youth. His daughter then asks him what he misses most… polio, the Great Depression, or two World Wars. What makes this story amusing to us is that we can put ourselves into the old man’s shoes so easily, and we can chide ourselves…

Dear friends and comrades, I have made the decision to cut off my contract of servitude under Sir Del'Vasya, and leave the service of the Airship Centroid. I'm flying solo for meow, while working on a big secret project. Oh, so very, very biiiiig. Under wraps for the time being, but soon enough, you all will know!
Fair winds and fluffy tails,

It's exactly the way it was pictured in my mind. Well almost.
I used to play certain tabletop games growing up, and I knew too many people who underplayed the size, complexity, and general horror felt when encountering a dragon.…

Did I even spell that correctly? I've never had to worry about it before. And yet, there, on the hill yonder, just barely in view, it stands mocking at me. I know it's close, and it knows that I know. I have been aware of its creeping for some months now, and all of my efforts to thwart it have been fruitless.
Friends grant me a temporary respite and I am greatful, but it is only temporary. And I and the creeper know it both.
I shall chronicle my adventures here, only for…

Happy holidays, and I say that on purpose because there are more than one happening in a 3 week period for people who live in the continental US. Some of us are immigrants and have a different New Year--some of us celebrate the actual celestial event of Solstice, where the sun dips its lowest below the plane of the ecliptic. Some people celebrate blatant consumerism and worship a fat man in a red suit, some bow down to a helpless baby, some are looking forward to the relativistic New Year,…

Live in New Mexico USA the great western frontier. 40 miles south of Durango colorado. Narrow gauge train there. Alot of victorian loving people there. They like more victorian types, not so much steam punk though. Their loss.

I’m one of those people that like to stroll through graveyards; the older the better... Recently, while sorting through some pictures, I stumbled on some photos that I had taken of an old “German” graveyard I visited while living in Wisconsin.
It caused me to think; what is it about them that I was…
