Late last night, Sir Johnathan showed up on my doorstep, carrying his little suitcase in his beak and looking rather lost. As a fellow Ægyptologist, I felt it my duty to help
him, and let him stay in my small office.
This morning, he received a…

Why Red Marcus Falcon is not a fat man right now I'll never understand. He's a wonderful cook and likes to eat as much as he likes to cook. When I stepped from the bus I was still in disguise, my blond hair and green eyes hiding me from the prying eyes of the York Family. I went into a restroom and waited until the bus departed then dropped my disguise and went to the nearest business and asked where I might find Red Marcus. The gentleman behind the counter, a striking…

Here's a fun happy thing. I've known the Dark Side of the Net since ye olde days when I was reading alt.gothic by candlelight on a dial-up modem, so I am awfully thrilled to be cited as one of 13 seriously cool steampunk sites in a recent entry there! Thanks, Carrie!
I know many people who are or soon will be on the way to DragonCon; if you're bringing some…

The epic convention in the world of geekery is coming this weekend:
DRAGON*CON. I’ll be there with with the crew of
The Wandering Legion down in Atlanta. I’ve never been before, but it looks like it’ll be bursting to the brim with shenanigans. And people will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most steampunks in a photoshoot. Will you be there?
Not
only that, but I’m excited to mention that…

After four baths, three massages, several hours of meditation, five bottles of wine, and a half gallon of strawberry ice cream (with fudge sauce), I feel ready to face the world again. Bernie was right, I
had become unbelievably tense, jumping at the slightest noise, and unable to
sleep through the night.
The arrival of strangers from offworld demanding the return of Buford’s box frightened me more than I care to admit. Having been…

There's nothing like the local steampunk meetups of Upstate Steampunk to
get me inspired. This was another fun meeting at the gorgeous hotel
where they are holding the Con in November and it's a Victorian Dream.
We sat in the lobby for a while, then adjourned to the wine room
throwing out all sorts of ideas. It was such a variety of people, many
in steampunk gear - we all tend to shop at goodwill or other thrift
stores and now have too many really cool outfits to…

Entry #81Date Recorded: September 6, 2315Carson City, dusty jewel of the Sierra Nevada. So charming in it's simplicity.
We docked the Hysteria right outside of town and strolled down the dusty road into town. The sun brushed the wood and stone buildings with a warm caress. It's such a romantic town... city... it's rather small for a city. Entering the town square we…

Ok guys, now is your chance to help create a future. I need input, my steampunker cohorts, on what to include in my steampunk line of rubber art stamps!
I am launching Gumtree Graphic RUbber (Stamps) soon and am working on several lines. Each of our artists, and we have some fabulous ones, will have their own line. I am also creating several themed ones, including steampunk. So...
...what kind of Steampunk rubber stamps would you like to… Continue

I'm writing in a new journal because my old one was taken from me. A few days ago the bus got a flat tire. I now suspect that it was not an accident. I did not feel safe taking a ride from a stranger as a few of my fellow travelers did and it was nearly 100 miles to Carson City so walking was out of the question. The tire was changed and we were soon on our way again. When I got to Carson City I did as Edward had told me and got a pistol. Then rather than ask a lot of…

Entry #80Date Recorded: December 26, 2998Food coma... the only phrase in which the word 'coma' carries positive connotation.
Roast beef, mashed potatoes, bacon wrapped scallops... and Boston creme pie. Good old Angus was there with a basket of Scotch eggs. Carols? Of course not, we sang aether shanties until daybreak. I am a happy pirate. Just what I needed to lift…

Entry #79Date Recorded: December 25, 2998In my sullen and rather pitiful humor, I had forgotten that it was Christmas!
Upon returning to Coppersteam I made straight for the laboratory, remembering that I had a parcel to open. It read in my handwriting not to open until Christmas and I've been such a good boy not to peak. I must say, I am delighted with what I found…

Entry #77December 24, 2998We've made the time jump back to the present. We've finally run across some luck in the form of a favorable southerly wind. We're bound for Coppersteam and should arrive in about a day. And not a moment too soon because I've already exhausted our entire stock of rum and absinthe... in one sitting too.
I've been grinding the gears in my head…
