Today is the anniversary of Star Wars. I don't give a rat's a** if you don't like it, I do, and it was an important influence on who I have become. Trekkies understand this more than any other group of people--even though Star Wars fans and Trekkies argue some time, most of them agree on the mutual importance of both on society. This Memorial Day Weekend

Jeff Mach’s event is huge. The largest of the steampunk conventions I’ve gone to with 4,000 attendees last year. In the lead up to this year they filled up the two main hotels quickly. Filled up an overflow hotel and then another overflow hotel.
