The Crossroads of the Aether
My beta reader found that a piece was missing! ~Aeron
Aeron tucked the last tarp into place and surveyed the wagon. Her father’s life work, here in one meager cartload of junk, Aeron thought, somewhat bitterly. She shook her head before turning back to the workshop. She had one last piece of equipment to gather – the battery in the safe. Aeron stood in the doorway, staring at the empty workbenches and dingy walls. Besides the tiny apartment across the alley, this had been…

Has it really been, yowser, that many months?
I'm still kicking, and so is the film. We had a great trip to ChattaCon this past weekend. Okay, the panel was a little scarce -- to those of you who came, thanks for the support! -- but there's nothing quite like leaving a nudist room-party and bumping into Emilie Bush from Steampunk Chronicle!
Engines of Destiny had the chance to sit…

Wrote it myself about 15 minutes ago. What do you all think?
It all started way, way back in 1885.
The times were tough and everyone just tried to stay alive.
Transportation came from horses, carriages and trains,
And farming was the way of life for most out on the plains.
The little town of Copper Creek was peaceful and composed.
The residents were peaceful too, not one of them hard-nosed.
Until one day, a man rode in on a bike that ran on…

My journey began in the little dirt covered town of Edgewood, New Mexico. The year was 2009 couldn't tell you the day or month (I never remember that stuff, I think there was snow on the ground... I think...anyway). I was driving down a dirt road on my way to a friends house when two oddly dressed gents. came cashing onto the road I slammed on the brakes and slid towards them. This is a great way to star the day I thought to myself.
There…

Unfortunately, women are often conspicuous by their absence in the more classic steampunk literature. Take 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for instance. There is no doubt that it’s a fantastic novel from the author that many consider to be the father of the genre but reading it, one could be forgiven…

I went to see "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" last night and while I could give a review of the film I almost think it isn't worth it. We're not talking Shakespeare but it doesn't take itself too seriously so it is, at least, entertaining if fairly predictable. However, something that kept catching my attention through the film were the weapons. Since it was about killing monsters in as varied a way as possible to keep your attention there were a lot of guns.
Anachronistically…

Hi, just letting everyone know about my heavy rock steampunk band. We are based in Melbourne Australia and have a CD coming out soon. I hope you like the debut music video. We have 2 more coming out. Please feel free to 'share'. We are an independant band relying on word of mouth. Cheers."

“I’ll sleep when I’m finished with the task my father gave me,” Aeron scowled. Who did this man think he was? “If you will excuse me, I have things to do and a wagon to return before midnight.”
Caleb took a breath. “Let me help,” he said, reaching a hand to her, “Please?” She would never be able to unload the…

OK guys, I am not going to the salon for a haircut till I get Book 2 published! Even if its not till October or later! I WILL NOT CUT MY HAIR! (except for minor end nicking for splits) Maybe if I remember I will have a contest for what kind of long shaggy cut I should get.
I'm also doing the 200 likes…

Literally 12 years ago, Clive Cussler responded to my fan letter and sent me some of the Valhalla Rising manuscript with his hand written edits on it. I've kept that as a reminder that yes, I can do it, and other authors edit their own work as well. Sure, they probably take some feedback from others...I've been through the work shopping (through classes) enough to know that feedback is extremely useful, especially when it isn't readily available anymore.
With Empty Space, I literally…
