I would like to recommend a book that, while not steampunk, might be of interest. The book is titled 'Spangle' by the late Gary Jennings and was published in 1987. It's a thoroughly researched and…Continue

Every time I see a film or TV series that takes place in the 19thC (Copper and Ripper Street are great examples) I can't help but strain my eyes when a glass of beer, wine or liquor is set in front…Continue

The works of Tim Powers have been credited as being seminally ‘steampunk’ and Wikipedia lists his ‘literary movement’ as steampunk. That said I’m not quite sure if, given what I now know about…Continue

how are you this fine day? weather your way turning a bit nippy? Cold here at night a tad and warm in day time
Dear Mr. Murphy, that you kindly for your request of friendship. Although somewhat out of the blue, I look forwards to making your acquaintance, and following your career upon the Empire. I see you are a purveyor of fine ale and wines, if you ever feel like a virtual one, and a good chat to boot, do drop in to the Accepted Cog Saloon.
Warmest Regards,
James Murray
Next armory additions are a rifle, plasma light, and air powered wings. I think my kit so far is still on the light side, but I appreciate the encouraging feedback. Thanks, Capt-S
Wonderful weaponry. By your description, there is a story behind the creations.
Are you going to write a story for us?
Respectfully yours,
Ichabod Temperance.

Greetings and welcome. The Empire affords nearly endless opportunities for education and adventure. I invite you to peruse the groups and blogs as well as the discussions. You are sure to discover things that take your fancy and other members of the Empire to interest you.
If you are at all interested in bicycling, please drop by the Steampunk Style Cycling Union. We are a hardy group of wheel mad scorchers and slow riders committed to bringing steampunk style and elegance to the cycling world.
If you appreciate corsets, you might want to visit The Loyal Order of Corsetted Ladies. We exchange information on the wearing of Victorian style unmentionables in the 21st century and of course post beautiful corsets and where we obtain them.
There are also groups focused on everything from cocktails to engineering and regional groups from Tampa to Juno.
I have also written a series of blog posts on steampunk syle if you are interested in this side of things. You can see them here:http://stylesaysonlyme.blogspot.com/
I hope to see you around the Empire.
Letting Off Steam,
Miss Cherries Jubilee
