Introduction
So now it has a name. The Steampunk , or, neo Victorian movement has likely been around been around since the end of the Victorian period itself. Then it was a dream of the future, now it appears to be a yearning for the past and a simpler time ,with the convinces of technology of course , all be it an alternate technology at that. The lure of the genre seems to be many faceted , comprising a lifestyle with art forms that include fashion and mixed media literature, reenacting, larping, and what have you (what have you usually being incorporated in the art or costumes ). It has been something that as interested me even before it had a name, it has been around for a while, primarily because of it's almost classical historical roots. Even the works of da Vinci had some of the character, and came centuries before. I t is after all a realm for the romantic creative dreamer.

For me, and it seems to hold for this local, it includes art forms and style well into the 20's to 30's as well, although the later period would be more correctly called Diesel Punk. As an artist, designer and fabricator I like to bring styles of varying periods together in harmony , favouring of course Victorian and Art Deco.

Captain and proprietor of the converted steam freighter Magaidh . She was originally a Clyde Puffer , and sails out of Ardreshaig in the southern coastal waters of Scotland and cruses the western isles and the hebrides. That being all well and good , it is only the cover story ,the Cargo hold of Magaidh has been converted to an elaborate laboratory, and in reality travels farther and wider with an almost Gallifreyan mystique and more than that I cannot divulge. In the laboratory many obscure activities can be accomplished . Often Magaidh is called to other duties, as the abundance of airships and sky pirates necessitates interruption of research for extensive rescue and “salvage”missions. Seems that with all of the pirates flying the gasbags flying around , it is often overlooked that gasbags will deflate, and what goes up must come down , and usually over water, and that’s where we come in .

Well that's about it, the pressure is up in the boiler , and it's time to get the ship underway

Yes, the Argus is a splendid piece of photographic machinery.  My first "real" camera was one, and it was well-suited to a young person who was prone to dropping it on rocks while hiking up mountains!

Hello!

Auntie Social and the Mayor of Cowford (Spectre) are usually trying to kill each other or swindle each other on any given day.

The Mayor was once our accomplice in a train heist down in White Sulphur Springs but now his office denies involvement in spite of photographic evidence to the contrary.

So, I guess you could say we were pals!  ;->

Auntie Social
