Nice to meet you Stuart. Even though I carry Ireland in my heart, alas I don't reside there. I'm from Southern California in the United States. The best of luck to you in finding other Steampunkers in your area.
Hi,are there any people on this site living on the South West part of Ireland ? I am living on the West Coast on the Dingle Peninsular.
Greetings All:
I'm Irish descent on both sides. I had the good fortune to visit Ireland for 3 weeks. It's was a wonderous experience. I've always felt a special connection to Ireland and hope to continue that connection here.
My grandmother's maiden name was McCarron, and the other side is Fields. The latter is a pretty rare name in Ireland, as I have researched. Interesting. She's also a bit French, like 10% or so. Perhaps that's where Fields came from.
My Grandmothers maiden name was O'Callaghan.
My grandma is 100% Irish also, and from Cork too! well, half anyway. The other half of her family was from Moate. I love to learn about my heritage, it's fun to keep up on the times of the homes lands :)
Hello everyone, my Grandmother way 100% Irish from Cork Ireland ,growing up we were immersed in the true culture of the land.
Hey there fellow citizens of the Steampunk Empire and Ladies and Gentelmen of the Irish Steampunk Society. I have only just joined this site and community so wanted to come straight here and join this group, say hi, introduce myself and ask you fine fellows a question.
Im living in rural remote kerry and work's thin down here so going to get back into leather work (and crafting/creating in general). When I was living in england years back, I used to make all kinds of stuff but some of my favourite stuff was armour and gear for bikers and LARPers. Thats the area I'd like to get back into but it all comes doown to demand I reckon. Like, most of the Steampunks I have known liked to make as much of their own stuff as possible. We seem to be quite a talented crowd in general, eh boys. lol
I'd love to know guys, do any of you buy your gear? Like, from a crafter's point of view, would there be much interest here in Ireland if I were to have a crack at making some stuff? I know I can cater to the rest of the world but I'd like to know what kind of market there is here in Ireland. If I can make anything decent and desirable, I'd like to get your opinions and see you guys get first pick.
I'd like to know if your at all interested or if you think there'll be any interest here.
Thanks a million. : )
Cro.
